How do award templates differ from one-off awards?

Award templates are reusable definitions with a name, description, frequency, eligibility rules, and celebration GIF. When granting an award, you select a template and choose a recipient. One-off awards are not a separate concept — all awards use templates, which can be created from scratch or activated from the library.

Can employees redeem points for custom gifts?

Yes. Admins stock the gift shop with custom items — company swag, gift cards, extra PTO, lunch vouchers, charitable donations, or anything else. Employees browse the shop and spend their earned spendable points. Admins fulfill redemptions and track status.

Who has permission to grant awards?

Award granting permissions are configurable per template. You can restrict a template to admins only, managers only, or allow anyone to grant it. This flexibility lets you have peer-nominated awards alongside manager-only milestone awards.

How does period-based award tracking work?

Each award template can be set to weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, or one-time frequency. The system tracks how many times an award has been granted in the current period and displays award history on recipient profiles with timestamps.

Can I upload custom gift items to the shop?

Yes. Admins can add gift items with a name, description, image, and point cost. There is no limit on the number of gift items. You can update inventory, adjust point prices, and remove items at any time from the admin dashboard.
